Opening young minds
Last Wednesday, we welcomed The Cutnall Green C of E Primary School to Potter Space Droitwich Business Park, visiting the new Unit 103 for a hands-on look at the world of construction and business parks. Guided by the Potter Space and Falcon Contract Flooring teams, the children explored how buildings are planned, built, and maintained, and discovered the many careers that make these places thrive.
The visit blended engaging, didactic activities with real-world demonstrations in Unit 103. This practical experience helped pupils connect classroom learning to real-world projects and see how modern business parks support a diverse range of businesses and roles.

Derrick Potter, Chairman of Potter Space, mentioned: “It is inspiring to see young people engaging with our teams and spaces. Business parks like Droitwich support the everyday economy and create opportunities for rewarding careers for the next generation.”
Breaking down stereotypes
Students learned that construction is about far more than hard hats and muddy boots. It also includes design, engineering, project management, procurement, compliance, and customer service. The day highlighted how warehousing and business parks are fundamental to the products and services relied upon every day, connecting suppliers, brands, and communities. With Unit 103 part of Droitwich’s growth, the park continues to provide high-quality space and opportunities for local people and businesses.
“Helping children understand things such as quality and teamwork shows how specialist trades thrive in a modern business park, and how those skills translate into exciting, real careers.” Stacey Hassall, Director of Compliance, Falcon Contract Flooring.

A lasting impact
The Cutnall Green C of E Primary School staff observed that the children felt motivated after visiting real workplaces and meeting professionals, with the experience broadening their view of future pathways. Headteacher Ben King reflected that linking learning to live construction and logistics settings helps pupils make informed choices and see where their strengths can shine.
“Visits like this give the kids invaluable insights into diverse careers, building confidence and sparking new interests well beyond the classroom.” — Ben King, Headteacher. The session also reinforced core skills, including teamwork, problem-solving, and safety.
