Potter Space Asset Manager Appointed RICS Matrics Leeds Committee Chair

Esme Briggs, an Asset Manager at Leeds-based property company Potter Space, has been appointed Chair of RICS Matrics Leeds, where she will help support and develop the next generation of built environment professionals across the region.

RICS Matrics serves as an important network for students, trainees and newly qualified professionals in the property and construction sector. Designed to support, develop and connect early-career surveyors, the organisation plays a critical role to shape the future talent pipeline for the built environment sector.

The prominent leadership role positions Esme at the heart of Yorkshire’s property and construction community. She will lead the RICS Matrics Leeds committee in driving engagement and hosting networking and professional development events, as well as providing a platform for the next generation of property leaders across Yorkshire.

This appointment also reflects Potter Space’s ongoing commitment to developing market-leading talent, while supporting industry leadership, regional growth and the next generation of property professionals.

Esme said: “It is an honour to be appointed Chair of RICS Matrics Leeds. Throughout my career, I have benefitted greatly from the guidance, support and opportunities the network provides, and I have always hoped to give something back. I’m passionate about helping others build connections and develop their careers through a strong professional network, and I’m excited for what lies ahead.

“I recognise the importance of continuing and expanding on the delivery of a diverse programme of events, which RICS Matrics Leeds have done over the past few years, to support networking, wellbeing, career development and outreach to those starting their career journeys and beyond.”

One of Esme’s key initiatives as Chair is to begin a school outreach programme, where members will visit schools across Yorkshire to introduce Year nine students to the various career opportunities within surveying, construction and property.

Jason Rockett, Managing Director of Potter Space, said: “We are incredibly proud of Esme in her appointment as RICS Matrics Leeds Chair it is a testament to her dedication, professionalism and commitment to her peers and work. Since Esme joined the committee in May this year, we have seen her development personally and professionally. We know she will excel in her role as Chair, and we are excited to support her throughout her tenure”.
