Potter Space

Sustainability Policy

Environmental Policy Statement

Potter Space is a family-run business, providing high-quality industrial and commercial warehouse spaces, to create a ‘home for business’ so that we, and our customers, can thrive and grow for the long term. We believe that it is the people behind Potter Space that truly set us apart from other business parks.

Our broader Sustainability Policy outlines our commitments and is guided by our five core values and company purpose.

Our Environmental Integrity

We believe quality is standard | We act with integrity

As building experts, we are conscious of the impacts that developments can have on the environment. That's why:

  • We have started our decarbonisation journey by measuring our energy carbon footprint and planning our transition to low carbon vehicles.
  • Within our Design Code, we commit to achieving BREEAM ratings of ‘outstanding’ or ‘excellent’ at all new locations.
  • Striving for the highest quality, and environmental performance we rely on FSC certified timber for construction and re-purposing of hardcore and stone within the sites.

We are passionate about biodiversity, currently working in partnership with Natural England at our SSSI site in Ely to enhance habitat restoration and diversity.

Our commitment to environmental integrity is exemplified by our achievement of the International Green Apple Environment award recognising our approach to environmental best practice.

Our Team Mentality

We value and invest in loyalty | We believe in community

We believe that our people are our most valuable asset. That's why:

  • Our approach to people is transparent, career structured and supportive, creating an open and diverse space for development.
  • We are a living wage employer, with a wide range of wrap around support provision in place to assist our people in achieving their personal and professional milestones.
  • In creating ‘homes for business,’ we also contribute to the reduction of personal homelessness through fundraising and volunteering our time with St George’s Crypt.

Our Business Journey

We act with integrity | We believe quality is standard | We believe in prosperity

Our tender process ensures our values are shared with our supply chain. That's why:

  • We live and breathe property within our communities, and our contractors are instrumental in the achievement of our goals.
  • We are fortunate that the same trusted suppliers are loyal to work with us time and time again across the country.
  • We have co-founded the “big things in small boxes” movement as we can see that industrial developments in communities drive smaller business expansion and fuels wider UK economic growth.
  • Some of our customers have resided with us for over twenty years.

This bears testament to our ongoing commitment to translating our Potter Space values into actions that support businesses and communities, by caring, being efficient, and sharing our knowledge.
